What is Restylane©?

Restylane ® is an FDA approved non-animal based hyaluron which is found naturally in your skin. Restylane® is used almost anywhere in the face, but is best for deep static lines and folds. Having been used in over 1.4 million patients for the past 10 years. Restylane® continues to be instrumental in lessening and removing fine-lines and wrinkles.Restylane is made of a natural, sugar-based, water absorbing gel (hyaluronic acid), found commonly in both plants and people.

Where Can Restylane© Be Used?

Restylane® can be used as an effective anti wrinkle treatment of under the eyes and smile lines. Restylane® is also used in the lips to achieve a more plump full lip appearance.

At Abrams Dermatology, we use Restylane ®  for hollowing of the tear trough area underneath the eyes because it is a finer, more fluid injectable. Restylane® also has the unique quality of slightly shrinking upon injection into the face, making it precise filler for delicate fine lines around the eyes without adding too much bulge. We also use Restylane® to add volume to the lips. Restylane® is an excellent non-invasive filler for lip augmentation because it is quick and provides instant results. Similarly, it is not permanent, so should you wish to return your lips to the original fullness, the Restylane® itself will dissipate over time.

Restylane ® is F.D.A. approved. As it is made of Hyaluronic Acid, it is something that your body already utilizes to make your skin look supple. It's absorbed over time.
